1. Introduction

PetDentify, LLC (“PetDentify,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our NFC pet identification tags, the PetDentify mobile application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Services”).

By accessing or using the Services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide to Us

Account Information. Name, email address, telephone number, mailing address, and password when you create or update an account.

Pet Profile Information. Pet name, breed, age, medical notes, and a photo you upload.

Support Inquiries & Feedback. Information you choose to provide when you contact us.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

Device & Usage Data. IP address, device type, operating system, app version, and pages/screens viewed.

Log Data. Diagnostic, crash, and performance logs.

Analytics Information. We use limited first‑party analytics to understand app performance. No advertising identifiers are collected.

2.3 Information from NFC Tag Scans

When a finder taps an NFC PetDentify tag, we display only the pet owner’s telephone number by design. The tap event itself is logged with time and (approximate) location of the scan for security and support purposes.

Current LIVE capability: When tapped, the tag shows only the owner’s telephone number.

3. How We Use Your Information

• Provide, operate, and maintain the Services;
• Allow pet finders to contact you via the telephone number displayed after a tag scan;
• Respond to inquiries and provide customer support;
• Improve and personalize the Services, including troubleshooting and analytics;
• Enforce our Terms of Service and protect the integrity of the Services;
• Comply with legal obligations.

4. Legal Bases for Processing (EEA/UK Users)

We process personal data only when we have a lawful basis, including performance of a contract, legitimate interests (e.g., security and Service improvement), consent (where applicable), and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Sharing & Disclosure of Information

We do not sell or rent personal information. We may share information:

Service Providers. With vendors who perform services for us under confidentiality agreements (e.g., cloud hosting, analytics).

Legal & Safety. If required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PetDentify, users, or others.

Business Transfers. In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with appropriate safeguards.

6. Data Retention

We keep your information as long as needed to provide the Services, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. NFC scan logs are retained for 24 months and then anonymized or deleted.

7. Security

We implement technical and organizational measures, including encryption in transit, restricted access, and regular security reviews, to protect your information. No system is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children’s Privacy

The Services are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected such information, we will delete it.

9. Your Rights & Choices

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. California Residents (CCPA). California users may request disclosures about personal information collected, request deletion, and opt out of any “sale” of personal information (note: PetDentify does not sell personal information).

10. International Transfers

Your information may be processed and stored in the United States or other countries where we or our service providers operate. We use standard contractual clauses or other approved mechanisms to protect international transfers.

11. Future Features & Updates

Additional functionality—including geofence alerts, GPS tracking, and an owner dashboard—is under development and not part of the current PetDentify release. If these features launch, we will update this Privacy Policy and provide advance notice where required.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be notified through the Services or by other appropriate means.
