Yes. Owners use the PetDentify app and an account to activate the tag, manage the pet profile and Safety Circle contacts, and save updates. Download for iPhone or download for Android.

The finder taps the NFC tag and opens the pet’s dynamic finder page in a browser. The page shows the pet’s name and photo, a Call owner action, and any enabled Safety Circle contacts by name and relationship with their own Call action. It is not a standalone phone-number screen.

No. A finder needs an NFC-enabled phone, a browser, and an internet connection. They do not need a PetDentify app or account.

Yes. Edit and save the profile in the PetDentify app. Because the tag opens a dynamic page, saved profile changes do not require rewriting the physical tag.

Safety Circle lets an owner add trusted backup contacts to the finder page. Owners can add, edit, remove, reorder, show, or hide contacts. Enabled contacts appear by name and relationship with a Call action. They are not automatically notified when someone scans the tag, and owners should add only people who agreed to be listed.

Most modern iOS and Android phones support background NFC reading. On iPhone, tap near the top of the phone; on many Android phones, tap near the center of the back.

Unlock the phone, confirm NFC is enabled where required, remove a thick or metal case, and hold a different part of the phone against the tag for a moment. Try another NFC-enabled phone. If the tag still fails, email support@petdentify.com.

Yes. NFC opens the finder-page link, and the browser needs an internet connection to load current profile information. If the page cannot load, the finder should contact a local shelter, veterinarian, or animal services for help identifying the pet.

No. It is a passive NFC identification tag with no battery to charge. It does not provide live GPS tracking.

A microchip is permanent identification that a vet or shelter scans with specialized equipment. PetDentify lets someone with an NFC-enabled phone open the finder page. Many owners use both.
