PetDentify – Terms of Service

2.1 What is available today

PetDentify provides NFC-enabled pet identification tags (“Tags”) that, when tapped, open a public dynamic finder page showing the pet’s name and photo, a Call owner action, and any enabled Safety Circle contacts. An enabled Safety Circle contact appears by name and relationship with a Call action. No app or account is required for the finder.

Pet owners use the PetDentify mobile app and an account to create and manage pet profiles, confirm the owner phone number, add, edit, remove, reorder, show, or hide Safety Circle contacts, and write Tags. Finders do not need the app or an account, but they need an NFC-enabled phone, a browser, and an internet connection to load the finder page.

PetDentify is a passive NFC identification service. It is not a live GPS tracking service and does not guarantee recovery of a lost pet.

3. Eligibility & Account Registration

Pet owners need an account to activate and manage Tags. You agree to provide accurate, complete information and keep it updated. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.

4. Pricing, Orders & Payment

PetDentify Tags are $9.99 each unless a different merchandise price is clearly shown for a specific offer. Shipping is not free. Available shipping methods, rates, delivery estimates, and destination-based tax are displayed in secure Stripe checkout before payment. Shipping is currently available to U.S. delivery addresses.

Buying More Tags

You may purchase additional Tags at the price shown at checkout. Each Tag is sold separately unless otherwise expressly stated in a specific offer.

Promotional Offers

Promotions or limited-time offers may be made available at PetDentify’s discretion. Any such offer will be governed by the terms presented at the time of the offer.

5. Shipping, Warranty & Replacements

Limited One-Year Warranty

PetDentify warrants new Tags against defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, PetDentify will repair or replace, at no charge, Tags that prove defective. This warranty does not cover loss or damage caused by misuse, accidents, or modifications.

Breakage & Loss. If a Tag is damaged after the warranty period or lost, replacement Tags may be purchased at the then-current price plus any applicable shipping.

Return Policy

Unused Tags may be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund if they remain in new, resalable condition. Original outbound shipping charges are nonrefundable. Contact support@petdentify.com before sending a return.

6. Use of the Service

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You will not: (a) copy or modify the Service; (b) reverse-engineer or attempt to extract source code; (c) use the Service to harass, abuse, or harm another person or pet; (d) upload or transmit malicious code; or (e) violate applicable laws.

7. User Content

You retain ownership of content you upload (e.g., pet photos, profile data). By submitting content, you grant PetDentify a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, use, reproduce, modify, and display such content solely to operate and improve the Service. You represent that you have all rights necessary to grant this license.

Safety Circle contacts. Before adding another person to Safety Circle, you must have that person’s permission to provide their name, relationship, telephone number, and optional email address to PetDentify. Before showing the contact on a public finder page, you must also have permission to display their name and relationship and provide a Call action linked to their telephone number. Safety Circle contacts are not automatically notified when a finder scans a Tag. If a contact withdraws permission, you must promptly hide or remove that contact and update their information as needed.

8. Intellectual Property

PetDentify and its licensors retain all rights, title, and interest in and to the Service, including software, trademarks, and content. Except as expressly permitted, you may not use PetDentify’s trademarks without prior written permission.

9. Privacy

Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and share your information. By using the Service, you consent to our data practices as described therein.

10. Third-Party Services

The Service may contain links to or integrations with third-party services, including Stripe for checkout and payment processing, mapping services, hosting providers, and email or support tools. Third-party services are governed by their own terms and privacy practices.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” PetDentify disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. PetDentify does not guarantee that use of the Service will result in the recovery of a lost pet or that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, PetDentify will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, arising out of or related to your use of the Service. In no event will PetDentify’s total liability exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid PetDentify in the 12 months preceding the claim or (b) fifty (50) U.S. dollars.

13. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold PetDentify and its affiliates harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

14. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time if we reasonably believe you have violated these Terms. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease; however, Sections 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, and 15 will survive termination.

15. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. To the extent permitted by law, any dispute arising under these Terms shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois. Nothing in this section limits rights that cannot lawfully be waived under applicable consumer-protection law.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the app or by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
